Coffee bean silo
In professional display contexts, a coffee bean silo is a visible bulk container used to organise, present and dispense roasted beans. It may stand on a counter or mount to a wall.
Coffee bean dispenser
Dispenser describes the operating function: the unit releases beans through its front outlet. ROASTRA formats are dispensing systems; their placement, capacity and additional functions differ.
What 'with scoop' means here
The scoop is not the primary way beans leave the silo. The product dispenses beans through its mechanism. If more beans are dispensed than required, the integrated scoop can collect the excess and return it through the dedicated return inlet without opening the top lid.
Grinder hopper
A grinder hopper feeds beans directly into a specific grinder. It is not a substitute for an assortment display and normally holds only the coffee assigned to that grinder.
Reserve storage
Neither a display silo nor a grinder hopper automatically replaces the roaster's reserve-storage method. Unused stock should remain under the storage conditions established for the packaged coffee.
Use the right term in a specification
A buyer looking for an assortment display should specify a coffee bean silo or coffee bean dispenser and then state the placement. A grinder hopper belongs in a grinder specification. Clear terminology prevents the supplier from quoting equipment for a different part of the workflow.
Describe the function, not only the name
When requesting a product, add the operational requirement: shelf or wall placement, nominal capacity, dispensing, whether a scoop-return inlet is required, quantity and finish. This remains clear even when different markets use silo, dispenser or bulk container differently.
