Begin with active varieties
The clearest starting point is one silo position for each coffee that must be visible and available at the same time. Do not count reserve coffees or future seasonal ideas as active positions unless space is deliberately being held for them.
Separate display from production
A café may grind only two coffees during service while presenting eight retail coffees. The operational grinder assortment and the customer-facing bean display are related but not identical.
Check the available width
Multiply model width by quantity and add spacing between units. The Studio performs this calculation using 190 mm product width for the shelf models and 150 mm for the wall-mounted model.
Review turnover by coffee
A wide assortment can create slow-moving positions. Before increasing quantity, check whether each coffee will rotate fast enough to justify a permanent display silo.
Plan for growth carefully
One or two planned spare positions can be useful for seasonal coffees. A large number of empty or slow-moving silos, however, weakens both the display and the stock-rotation system.
Use the calculator
Enter the active coffee count and real display width in the Studio. The result shows the quantity that physically fits and identifies any varieties left without a position.
Apply the planning formula
Divide the available width in centimetres by 20 and round down to the nearest whole unit. Then compare that result with the active coffee count. The smaller number is the practical quantity for a one-silo-per-variety first pass. For example, 140 cm provides seven positions; if only five coffees are active, the working recommendation remains five units.
Check capacity after quantity
Quantity determines how many coffees can be shown; capacity determines how much coffee each position can carry. Multiply the selected product's nominal capacity by the unit count for a total display value, then compare it with daily usage. Do not add units simply to increase total capacity if the active assortment does not need them.
